Hello new parents and welcome to Trinity School.
We hope that your children, and you, settle well into Trinity school life. We would like to take this opportunity to extend a very warm welcome to you, explain a little about who we are and what we do within FOTS and hopefully answer a few questions you might have as parents who are new to the school.
WHO WE ARE - Friends of Trinity School
Referred to as FOTS, we are the parents’ association for Trinity; a committee of parent and carer volunteers whose main aim is to raise money for our school, allowing them to improve the school facilities and ultimately enrich the learning environment for our children.
We meet once every 2 months. Everybody is welcome at a FOTS meeting. There isn’t any long term commitment necessary - all the help you can give whether it’s 2 hours or a whole day is most appreciated.
HOW DO WE WORK
FOTS is a registered charity and as such we operate within the guidelines of the Charity Commission. Each year, at the AGM a committee is elected. As a parent or guardian of a child within the school you are eligible to attend the AGM, vote for committee members and stand for election yourself.
Each year FOTS organise a variety of events, raising invaluable funds that have allowed the continued improvement of facilities and resources within our school. Not only are our events excellent fundraisers they also provide opportunities for fellow parents and carers to meet, socialise and have fun.
PAST ACHIEVEMENTS
Over the years FOTS has organised a large number of events, raising money for a variety of facilities and resources for our school.
Some of our most recent events include the ‘Trinity to Paris’ bike ride in 2017 which raised £30k which paid for the school science lab. Every two years we host a ball; a fabulous black tie event giving us all an excellent opportunity to dust off our glad rags and have a grown up night out. The 2016 event raised £10k and paid for the play equipment on the lower playground and in 2018 FOTS raised £8k to fund the new Forest School and IT equipment.
UPCOMING EVENTS
We are organising a Camp on Saturday 20th July. This will be the first FOTS Camp Out that we’ve organised and hopefully something that we will start doing annually.
As a Welcome to new parents, we will organise a drinks evening in September where you can meet current FOTS members and think about how you might like to get involved with FOTS going forwards.
FUN FOR THE CHILDREN
Throughout the year we organise events for the children where the emphasis is all about them having fun: Christmas Bazaar, Easter Bingo, Sports Day After Party, Friday cake sales, external education providers.
